It is festival time in Howth again and the Dublin Bay Prawn Festival has it all. Whatever way you like your prawns – barbecued, whole, shelled, fried, skewered, marinated, sauced – Howth’s many award-winning restaurants will not disappoint on this not to be missed weekend. Come and join our Foodie revolution as we serve your favourite prawn dishes in bite-sized portions at the Festival Food Village at this year’s Dublin Bay Prawn Festival. However it’s not just about the perfect Prawn because this really is a celebration of Seafood, so you can expect to see plenty of Fish & Chips , Oysters, Fish Cakes, Stir-Fries, Paella and Smoked Salmon to name but a few, after all, variety is the spice of life.
Just a short hop on the dart this picturesque peninsula is a breath of fresh air from the bustling city and the craziness of St Patricks Weekend. At any time of year, there’s so much to do in our Authentic Fishing Village, from scenic strolls along the harbour, coastal adventures on the cliffs, soaking up the villages rich maritime history and of course feasting on the best seafood.
A festival with something for everyone
This great festival is not just about the food though we have something for all ages and tastes with our LifeStyle Village, promoting a host of activities, sports groups, and some of Howth’s finest shopping. This not to be missed festival will showcase local foods, local leisure and local culture. You can expect everything from cooking demos to a full programme of family fun, with tons of entertainment to suit all tastes. The Food Village will entice and delight with the best seafood dishes on the planet. also include exciting cooking demonstrations for the budding cooks out there. With an action-packed weekend of events planned there’s always a great atmosphere about the place. The village will be buzzing with excitement. There’s plenty for kids to do with the funfair, entertainment and lots of sensational music. It’s always great to see people lined up on the walls tucking in and celebrating our great Irish seafood!
The currency of the festival is Prawn Punts. These cute little tokens can be exchanged for tasty treats and scrumptious prawns at the food stalls. A novel little way to get into the festival spirit.
There’s is a great line up of live music on the main stage and in the pubs around the village. Howth has some amazing music venues so you’ll find something you love. Don’t forget your dancing shoes and bust out those moves!
